I've been really excited to try out Urban Decay's new palette VICE4. First of all, I am in love with the palette's case that consists of a shiny dimensional web layered contrasting over it's matte lid.
It's use of metallic vibrant colours reflect the eyeshadow colours that are inside. It also comes with a protecting cover and a double-ended shadow and crease brush.
This palette consists of rich, deep jewel tones. It is a really exciting palette if you're wanting to achieve colourful and creative makeup looks. Stick to Urban Decay's naked palettes if you're someone who prefers nudes. There are a variety of different finishes to each eyeshadow, from buttery-smooth mattes to shimmering metallics. These eyeshadows feature Urban Decays 'Pigment Infusion System which is a proprietary blend of ingredients that gives a rich, velvety, blendable colour that lasts.'
I started off by covering the eyelid in DISCREET and then started to blend BUTTER into the crease and outer corner of my eyes. BUTTER literally applies like how I'd imagine butter would if it were okay to apply it onto your eyes! I then used UNDERHAND on the outer corner and on the centre of the lid. I then applied 1985 to the centre. I finished off the eye by highlighting the inner corner with FLAME. FLAME, UNDERHAND and 1985 are really high in pigment which both surprised and excited me. You know when you get a palette with exciting colours, it can sometimes be really disappointing when they don't come out how they look? Well 'What you see is what you get' and Urban Decay definitely delivered. All these colours are so vibrant and rich. I can't wait to play around and create some more looks.
I also tried out Kat Von D's matte lipstick 'Noble' to go with the makeup. It's really thick and creamy in texture which is what's quite nice about. I find that some matte lipsticks can dry my lips out and this one didn't at all. I also lined my lips with the OAK pencil by MAC. I wore the lipstick out for a dinner party and found it to be long lasting.
Let me know in the comment section below what your thoughts are on the VICE4 palette and 'Noble' lipstick. And any suggestions as to what makeup you would like to see me do, or colours to use next from the VICE palette.
