GLOSS & GO™ - LIP BLUSH - TREATMENt

The Gloss & Go™ Lip Blush treatment is designed to give you a long lasting lip colour so that you can wake up, gloss those gorgeous lips and go! This is a cosmetic tattoo treatment that can last up to 1-3 years. If you are someone that wants a natural lip blush and want to be makeup free, this is the treatment for you.

ABOUT LIP BLUSH TECNIQUE

During your consultation we discus what colour you would like and what suits you best. Different ink pigments will be mixed with some Vaseline and applied to your lips to test and try different shades until you agree upon a shade that works for you. Whether you are looking for a natural light blush or a stronger bolder lip, both of these can be achieved. It is advised to have a top up session 4-8 weeks after your first appointment. During this session we will discuss the colour to see how it has healed and if the colour needs more a boost or stay the same. If you are looking to build up the colour, this may require an additional top up session in order to create a stronger colour like a bold red for example.

Your lips will be mapped out with a pencil which will follow your natural lip shape. The Lip Blush technique gives fuller looking lips, but please note that it will not plump your lips or make them physically bigger. You may experience some swelling after the treatment which will go down.

A one point needle is used to create an extremely thin line around the boarder of the pencil mapping. This is to map out the edge but will not be visible at the end of the procedure once the shading is done. This is a lip blush finish and not an over lined look. The treatment will feel slightly scratchy on the lips. Pain is dependant on the person. It is advised that you shouldn’t book near the time of your mensural cycle due to sensitivity if this applies to you. Numbing cream will be applied before the treatment.

The device that is used is specifically designed for cosmetic face tattoos such as lips, eyeliner and also used for the brows. Although the tenique is similar to conventional body tattooing with regards to implanting pigment, the needle is a lot slower and far less aggressive. This is one of the reasons why yearly top ups are advised to maintain the colour.

If you are someone who suffers from the Herpes simplex virus which results in frequent cold sores, you will need to take Acciclovr antiviral drug 5 days before and after treatment. Please be aware that the likelihood of you getting a coldsore after the treatment is high if you do have Herpes simplex.

You will not be allowed to have the treatment if you are:

  • Under 18

  • Pregnant or breastfeeding

  • On antibiotics

  • Going through chemotherapy/radiotherapy

  • On steriods or using topical steroid cream

  • On blood thinning medication

  • Suffer from keloid scarring

If you are on any other medication, please email to ask if the procedure can still be done.

If you are having botox or fillers, please book your lip blush appointment with a minimum of 4 weeks after or before your filler or botox. If your lips are particularly dry, please gently exfoliate three days before and apply a hydrating balm a few times a day in preparation for your appointment.

If you are someone that has melanin rich lips, at the moment I cannot offer lip neutralisation. Clients with darker lips are at higher risk of getting hyperpigmentation after treatment. As always I need to work within my competency, and lip neautralisation should be performed by artists that have more experience. I would like to offer lip neutralisation in the future.

lip blush After care

60 MINUTES AFTER

Wash your hands well before performing any aftercare steps. To clean the area: blot your lips very carefully and gently with a clean cotton pad and sterile water. Apply a thin layer of the after care ointment to your lips. You should do this a few times a day for at least 10 days

WHAT TO AVOID

Do not eat spicy or very salty foods directly after treatment and also avoid kissing. Be mindful of the area with regards to germs and bacteria. Avoid saunas, sweating, facials, sunbathing, swimming, laser and chemical peals and makeup on the lips for at least 10 days.

No facial aesthetics which includes lip fillers for at least 4 weeks after treatment. Do not pick, touch or rub the area. Doing so will introduce bacteria into the area that will slow down the healing process and can lead to infection. This may then result in loss of pigment or scarring.

WHAT TO EXPECT

You may experience some swelling straight after which will go down after 24 hours. The colour after the treatment will be fairly bold and rich in colour. You should expect the colour to become stronger as the day goes on. The colour will then start to drastically fade in the next 48-72 hours and you can even expect all the colour to fade around day 4-8. It will start to come back around week 3 and by week 4 you will see the healed results. This is when you will need to come back for your first top up to go over any patches that may be there and evaluate the colour.

Don’t forget you will need to book your top up appointment for 4-8 weeks after today’s session. Then 8-12 months after your first top up.
